From the Secretary's Desk
Brethren, as usual, my number one topic is dues. As this issue of the Trestle Board goes to press, about 70% of our members have paid their dues (thank you!). That leaves nearly $7,000 outstanding. These funds are urgently needed for Grand Lodge assessments, utility bills, and general maintenance of the Temple. Take a minute and look in your wallet – does your dues card have “2012” printed on it? If not your dues are now past due. Any member who has not paid their 2012 and 2011 dues may be subject to suspension. A suspension in a Blue Lodge means suspension from all Masonic organizations. During the next few weeks, the Lodge Officers will be contacting the past due members. If you find yourself in a position that makes it difficult to pay your dues, please contact me (371-2089) or the Worshipful Master. We may be able to help, but only if we know. Remember my Brethren, you were once told “this has not been done to wound your feelings” but to let you know your Lodge is here to help, aid and assist. Dues for the calendar year of 2012 are $167.50. Have you considered a Life Membership? The cost is 16 times the annual dues, plus current year’s dues. You can also purchase a Life Membership by making installment payments. Contact the Secretary for details. Last month I reminded all of the Grand Master’s Proclamation proclaiming the first Wednesday of each month as Masonic Recognition Day. Be proud of your Fraternity. Let the world know you are a Mason. Please take a minute to look over the calendar of events and take advantage of an opportunity to meet with your Brethren. You knocked on the West Gate and were admitted. Why did you knock? Was it to be a Mason? If so, your Lodge needs you. You are needed for the Degree work for those candidates that are following you. Remember the night you knocked? Don’t disappoint these new candidates ... come out and show your support.
